Mind and Body Workshop

The purpose of AFDC's Mind and Body Workshop is to improve feelings of well-being for people who are concerned about memory loss or have been diagnosed with an Alzheimer's-type illness. Research has shown that people benefit from cognitive stimulation programs aimed at enhancing memory, word-finding in conversations and problem solving.  Other benefits include socialization and caregiver support.

This class uses:

"Brain Gym" activities to strengthen word fluency, recall, and problem solving skills that may be weakening.

"Laughter Yoga" to renew both mind and spirit.

The class meets weekly at Alzheimer's Family Day Center.
Address: 2812 Old Lee Highway, Suite 210, Fairfax, Virginia 22031                                                                                             Cost:  $125
Call: Tori or Sue to register at (703) 204-4664                                 The next session will start in early October and will run for six weeks.
